What Organize PDF does
Organize PDF shows every page of a PDF as a thumbnail, so you can change the page order by dragging, turn pages and delete pages you do not need. You can also add more PDFs and mix their pages, which makes it a visual way to combine files.
Thumbnails are rendered with pdf.js. When you click Save PDF, pdf-lib copies the pages into a new document in the order shown, applies the rotation you chose and leaves out deleted pages. Page content is not redrawn, so quality does not change. The file is named after the first PDF with -organized.
How to use Organize PDF
- Drop a PDF to see a thumbnail of every page.
- Drag pages to reorder them, rotate them, or delete them.
- Click Save and download the reorganized PDF.
When to use Organize PDF
- Move an appendix or signature page to the right place in a contract that was scanned in the wrong order.
- Combine two scanned PDFs, one with the front sides and one with the back sides, and drag the pages into reading order.
- Delete blank pages and turn sideways pages in a scanned stack of documents before archiving it.
- Build a handout by picking pages from several PDF reports and putting them in a new order.
Settings explained
- Add more files
- Drop or choose more PDFs to add their pages to the end of the grid. Pages from all files can then be moved freely, so the saved PDF can mix pages from several documents.
- Rotate
- The ↻ button under a thumbnail turns that page 90 degrees clockwise. Click it two or three times for 180 or 270 degrees. The thumbnail shows the new position before you save.
- Remove
- The ✕ button under a thumbnail takes that page out of the new PDF. There is no undo for single pages; use Start over and add the files again if you remove the wrong page.
- Save PDF
- Creates the new PDF from the pages in the grid, in their current order and rotation, and downloads it. The original files are not changed, and you can keep working and save another version.
What is PDF?
PDF (Portable Document Format) is a document format introduced by Adobe in 1993. Files use the .pdf extension.
PDF was created by Adobe to show documents the same way on any device and printer. A PDF file describes pages with text, fonts, vector graphics and images at fixed positions. It became an open ISO standard in 2008, and there are special variants such as PDF/A for archiving and PDF/X for printing.
PDF is the right choice for documents that must look the same everywhere, such as contracts, invoices, forms, manuals, reports and files for printing. It also supports digital signatures, fillable forms, comments and password protection.
PDF is hard to edit, because text is stored as positioned pieces, not as flowing paragraphs. Converting a PDF to Word may change the layout. Scanned PDFs contain pictures of text, not real text, unless OCR has been applied.
All major web browsers open PDF files directly. Windows, macOS, iOS and most Android phones include a PDF viewer, and Adobe Acrobat Reader and many free apps can view, annotate and fill PDF forms on all platforms.
Why use FansBond Organize PDF
Most online converters upload your files to their servers. FansBond Organize PDF does the work inside your browser instead, using WebAssembly and modern browser APIs. Your files stay on your device, which is safer for private photos, contracts and unreleased work, and it is often faster because nothing has to upload or download.
There are no queues, no watermarks and no account. Once the page has loaded, the tool keeps working even on a slow connection.
Tips for the best result
- Drag a thumbnail to move it. On a touch screen, press and hold a page for a moment before dragging, so the page does not scroll instead.
- The number under each thumbnail is its position in the new PDF. Use it to check the final order before you save.
- Long PDFs take a while to show all thumbnails. The Save PDF button stays disabled until the progress bar has finished.
- You can also use the keyboard: move to a page with Tab, press Space to pick it up, move it with the arrow keys and press Space to drop it.
How Organize PDF works in your browser
Pages are rendered with pdf.js, the PDF engine built into Firefox, running on your device. It reads fonts, vector graphics and embedded images and draws each page on a canvas.
For conversions and previews, the rendered pages are encoded as images in your browser. Text search, zoom and page navigation all work on the local copy of the file.
Privacy and security
Most online converters upload your files to a server, process them there and keep a copy for some time. Organize PDF works differently: the code is downloaded to your browser once, and your files are read and written only on your device.
You can check this yourself: after the page has loaded, turn off your internet connection and the tool still works. This makes it safe for contracts, IDs, medical records, private photos and unreleased work.
Frequently asked questions
Is Organize PDF free?
Yes. Organize PDF on FansBond is completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Your files are processed in your browser on your own device. They are never sent to FansBond or anyone else.
Do I need to install any software?
No. It works in any modern browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iPhone.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no fixed limit. Because the work happens on your device, the practical limit depends on your device's memory. Most phones handle files of a few hundred megabytes, and computers handle much more.
Are links, bookmarks and form fields kept?
Web links on the pages are copied with them. Bookmarks are not carried over to the new file, and links that jump to another page inside the document may stop working. Form fields are copied but may no longer be fillable, so flatten forms first if their values matter.
Can I organize a password-protected PDF?
A PDF that needs a password to open cannot be loaded. A PDF that opens but has editing restrictions shows its thumbnails, but saving fails with a message that the file is encrypted. Remove the protection with Unlock PDF first, then organize the unlocked copy.
How is this different from Merge PDF?
Merge PDF joins whole files in the order of a list and is quicker when you have many files. Organize PDF shows every page, so you can mix pages from different files, rotate them and delete them. To change the page order within one file, use Organize PDF.
