What Deblocare PDF does

Deblocare PDF removes the encryption from a PDF so it opens without a password and can be printed, copied, edited, merged or compressed. It is meant for your own files, for example a bank statement or payslip that arrives protected with a password you know.

The file is decrypted with qpdf. You enter the password once, and qpdf writes a new copy without encryption or permission restrictions, named with -unlocked. Content, links, bookmarks and form fields stay as they were. The tool cannot find or bypass a password you do not know.

Enter the password used to open the file, or its owner password. Leave it empty for PDFs that open without a password but block printing, copying or editing; those restrictions can be removed without one.

Add several protected PDFs to unlock them in one run. The same password is used for every file, so this works best for documents that share a password, such as statements from one bank.

• If a file needs a password to open and you leave the field empty, the tool reports that the PDF could not be processed. Enter the password and try again.
• Passwords are case sensitive. If the password is rejected, check Caps Lock and the keyboard language before you try again.
• Banks and employers often build the password from your date of birth, customer number or tax number. Check the email or letter that came with the file.
• Without encryption, anyone who gets the unlocked copy can open it. Store it in a safe place, or delete it when you no longer need it.

How Deblocare PDF works in your browser

Encryption and decryption use qpdf, a widely used open-source PDF toolkit, compiled to WebAssembly. Protected files use 256-bit AES, the strongest encryption method in the PDF standard.

The password you type is used only inside your browser tab to encrypt or decrypt the file. It is never sent anywhere and is not stored after you close the page.

Privacy and security

Most online converters upload your files to a server, process them there and keep a copy for some time. Deblocare PDF works differently: the code is downloaded to your browser once, and your files are read and written only on your device.
