What Desbloquear PDF does

Desbloquear PDF removes the encryption from a PDF so it opens without a password and can be printed, copied, edited, merged or compressed. It is meant for your own files, for example a bank statement or payslip that arrives protected with a password you know.

The file is decrypted with qpdf. You enter the password once, and qpdf writes a new copy without encryption or permission restrictions, named with -unlocked. Content, links, bookmarks and form fields stay as they were. The tool cannot find or bypass a password you do not know.

• If a file needs a password to open and you leave the field empty, the tool reports that the PDF could not be processed. Enter the password and try again.
• Passwords are case sensitive. If the password is rejected, check Caps Lock and the keyboard language before you try again.
• Banks and employers often build the password from your date of birth, customer number or tax number. Check the email or letter that came with the file.
• Without encryption, anyone who gets the unlocked copy can open it. Store it in a safe place, or delete it when you no longer need it.
