What Konwerter SVG does

This tool works in both directions. It renders SVG vector files into regular PNG, JPG, WEBP or AVIF images for apps, social networks and documents that do not accept SVG, and it can trace PNG, JPG and WEBP images into SVG.

Rendering draws the vector shapes onto a pixel canvas at the width you choose, so the result is as sharp as that size allows. Tracing reduces a raster image to a set of colors and turns each colored area into a vector path. Choosing SVG output for an SVG file returns the file unchanged.

SVG render width

Sets the width in pixels used to draw an SVG file, up to 8000. The height follows the aspect ratio. Leave 0 to use the size defined in the file; raise it when you need a larger, sharper image.

Quality

Shown for JPG, WEBP and AVIF output. It ranges from 10 to 100 with a default of 90. Lower values make smaller files but can blur thin lines and small text.

Background color

Shown for JPG output, which cannot store transparency. Transparent parts of the image are filled with this color, white by default. Match it to the page or document where the image will appear.

Colors

Shown for SVG output. Sets how many colors a raster image is reduced to before tracing, from 2 to 64, with 16 as the default. Use fewer colors for logos and more for detailed artwork.

Because PNG is lossless, photos saved as PNG are often several times larger than the same photo saved as JPG or WebP. PNG has no lossy mode, and a standard PNG file cannot store animation.

How Konwerter SVG works in your browser

When you add an image, the browser decodes it into raw pixels on your device. HEIC photos are decoded with a browser build of libheif, and AVIF with the libavif decoder. The pixels are then processed on an HTML canvas and encoded again in the format you picked.
