Zaštita PDF-a lozinkom adds a password to a PDF so that only people who know it can open the file. It is a common step before emailing contracts, medical reports, payslips or copies of ID documents, or before storing them in a shared folder.

Password

Required. This is the password needed to open the file. Use at least 12 characters, ideally several unrelated words, because a short password can be found by trying many combinations.

Owner password (optional)

A second password that grants full access and allows changing the permissions. If you leave it empty, a random owner password is created, so the restrictions apply to everyone but nobody can lift them later.

Permissions

Allow everything, the default, only adds the password. Block printing stops printing in standard viewers. Block printing, copying and editing also blocks copying text, adding comments, filling in forms and changing pages.

• Store the password somewhere safe, for example in a password manager. AES-256 encryption cannot be removed without it, not even by this tool.

• If the PDF is already protected, remove the old protection with Unlock PDF first, then protect the unlocked copy with the new settings.
