What PDF u JPG does

PDF u JPG turns PDF pages into separate image files. People need this to post a page on social media, add a page to a presentation, send it in a chat message, or share a document with someone who cannot open PDFs.

Each selected page is rendered with pdf.js at the resolution you choose, drawn on a white background and saved as JPG or PNG, one image per page. The PDF itself is not changed. Text in the images is part of the picture, so it can no longer be selected or searched.

Settings explained

Output format

JPG gives small files and suits pages with photos. PNG is lossless and keeps text and thin lines perfectly sharp, but the files are larger. Choose PNG for text pages, diagrams and forms.

Resolution

Sets the pixel size of each image: 72, 150, 200 or 300 DPI. At 150 DPI, the default, an A4 page becomes about 1240 × 1754 pixels. Use 300 DPI for printing or for zooming into small text.

Quality

Only shown for JPG. It ranges from 10 to 100 percent, with 90 as the default. Values from 80 to 90 keep text clean; lower values give smaller files but visible blur around letters.

Pages (empty = all)

Leave it empty to convert every page. Otherwise type page numbers and ranges separated by commas, such as 1-3, 5, 8-. A range like 8- runs to the last page, and -3 means pages 1 to 3.

What changes when you convert PDF to JPG

Each PDF page becomes one image. Text in the image can no longer be selected or searched, so keep the PDF if you need that.

PDF is hard to edit, because text is stored as positioned pieces, not as flowing paragraphs. Converting a PDF to Word may change the layout. Scanned PDFs contain pictures of text, not real text, unless OCR has been applied.

All major web browsers open PDF files directly. Windows, macOS, iOS and most Android phones include a PDF viewer, and Adobe Acrobat Reader and many free apps can view, annotate and fill PDF forms on all platforms.

JPG does not support transparency or animation. Each time a JPG is edited and saved again, it loses a little more quality. Text, line art and sharp edges can show visible blocks or halos at low quality settings.

JPG is supported everywhere: in all web browsers, on all desktop and mobile operating systems, and on cameras, phones and printers. All image editors and office programs open it. It is the most compatible format for sharing photos.

Tips for the best result

• When you convert several pages, every image appears in the result list. Use Download all (ZIP) to save them in one archive instead of one by one.
• Choose PNG at 150 DPI or more for pages with small print. JPG compression can blur thin lines and small letters, especially at low quality values.
• A full page at 300 DPI often gives an image of several megabytes. Use 150 DPI for screens and messages, and keep 300 DPI for printing.
• Images are named after the PDF and the page number, for example report-3.jpg, so the order stays clear when you upload or sort them.

Privacy and security

Most online converters upload your files to a server, process them there and keep a copy for some time. PDF u JPG works differently: the code is downloaded to your browser once, and your files are read and written only on your device.
