Конвертиране на PNG в SVG

What PNG в SVG does

Tracing turns a raster image, which is a grid of pixels, into a vector drawing made of filled shapes. A vector can be scaled to any size without blur and edited in programs such as Illustrator, Inkscape or Figma, which makes it useful for logos, icons and cutting machines.

The tool first reduces the image to a limited set of colors, then finds the outline of each area of the same color and describes it with lines and curves. Images larger than 1600 pixels on the longest side are scaled down before tracing, but the SVG keeps the original width and height.

When to use PNG в SVG

• Turn a small PNG logo into an SVG that stays sharp on a large banner, a shop sign or a printed poster.
• Prepare simple artwork for vinyl cutters, laser engravers and embroidery software that need vector paths instead of pixels.
• Convert a scanned pen drawing or signature into shapes that can be recolored and resized in a design program.
• Create a lightweight SVG icon for a website from a flat PNG graphic with a few solid colors.

Settings explained

Tracing style

Chooses a preset of tracing settings. Balanced is the recommended starting point for logos, icons and flat artwork. Posterized and Grayscale use their own fixed color settings, so the Colors slider does not change them.

Colors

Sets how many colors the image is reduced to before tracing, from 2 to 64, with 16 as the default. Use 2 to 8 for logos and line art; more colors keep more shading but create far more shapes.

What changes when you convert PNG to SVG

PNG is made of pixels and SVG is a vector format. The image is traced into shapes, which works best for logos, icons and flat graphics. Photos produce very large and complex vector files.

Both formats support transparency, so transparent backgrounds are kept.

Format comparison

Какво е PNG?

PNG (Portable Network Graphics) е формат за изображения, представен през 1996 г. (разработчик: W3C). Форматът използва компресия без загуби и поддържа прозрачност. Файловете са с разширение .png.

PNG was created in the mid-1990s as a free replacement for GIF, whose compression method was covered by patents at the time. It applies a filtering step and then compresses pixels with the DEFLATE algorithm, so every pixel is kept exactly. It supports full color, grayscale, palette images and a full alpha channel for smooth transparency.

PNG is the right choice for screenshots, logos, icons, diagrams, user interface graphics and any image with sharp edges, text or flat colors. It is also a safe format for images that need transparent backgrounds or will be edited again.

Because PNG is lossless, photos saved as PNG are often several times larger than the same photo saved as JPG or WebP. PNG has no lossy mode, and a standard PNG file cannot store animation.

PNG opens in every modern web browser, on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS, and in practically all image viewers, image editors, office suites and design tools. It is one of the most widely supported image formats.

Какво е SVG?

SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) е векторен формат за изображения, представен през 2001 г. (разработчик: W3C). Форматът поддържа прозрачност и може да съхранява анимация. Файловете са с разширение .svg.

SVG is an XML-based format that describes images as shapes, paths, text and gradients instead of pixels. Because it is a vector format, it can be scaled to any size without losing sharpness. SVG files can include CSS styles and scripts, and the format is an open web standard maintained by the W3C.

SVG is the best choice for logos, icons, illustrations, charts, maps and diagrams on websites and in apps. It stays sharp on any screen, is often very small for simple graphics, and can be edited as text.

SVG is not suitable for photographs. Complex drawings can produce large, slow files. Because SVG can contain scripts and links, many platforms block SVG uploads for security reasons. Text may look different if fonts are not converted to paths.

All modern web browsers display SVG. Vector editors such as Adobe Illustrator and Inkscape edit it, and many system file viewers can preview it. Many social networks, photo apps and office programs do not accept SVG.

Tips for the best result

• Logos, icons and drawings with flat colors and clear edges trace best. Photos produce thousands of small shapes and very large SVG files.
• Set Colors close to the number of colors you can actually see in the artwork. Extra colors turn soft edges into thin, unwanted bands.
• Use the largest and cleanest version of the image you have. Blurry or heavily compressed images give wobbly outlines and stray specks.
• Open the SVG in a vector editor to delete stray shapes or merge colors before you send it to a cutter or printer.

How PNG в SVG works in your browser

Vector tracing turns pixels into shapes. The tool groups similar colors into a small palette, follows the edges between color areas, and writes each area as an SVG path with a fill color.

The tracing runs in JavaScript on your device. Simple graphics such as logos, icons and drawings with flat colors trace cleanly. Photos produce very large SVG files with thousands of paths, so they are better kept as raster images.

Privacy and security

Most online converters upload your files to a server, process them there and keep a copy for some time. PNG в SVG works differently: the code is downloaded to your browser once, and your files are read and written only on your device.

You can check this yourself: after the page has loaded, turn off your internet connection and the tool still works. This makes it safe for contracts, IDs, medical records, private photos and unreleased work.
